I'll be giving two talks at QCon in San Francisco in November, one on the architecture track and one on the SOA track:
- Guerrilla SOA - How to fight back when a vendor tries to take control of your enterprise. My angle here is that even large scale enterprise architecture can be changed and evolved over time, even where rigid frameworks have been put in place. Of course I will still be putting the boot into ESBs, that's the fun bit of the talk.
- A Couple of Ways to Skin an Internet-Scale Cat - I'll explore how Web-centric solutions can be applied to enterprise domains used by real developers writing with those "boring" statically typed languages. In a shocking conclusion I'll show that Web-based services done right and SOA done well are actually similar beasts.
As Steve points out I think the SOA track is particularly strong this time around. See you there!
