After a write-off day yesterday, today was really great. After an initial short flight scraping around for lift, I took a second flight and got 1000m above launch with a mixture of dynamic and thermal lift. Having reached about 1900m around 40 minutes into the flight, I had the option to fly cross country to get back to la Motte where we're all staying. Unfortunately when I got the green light to fly home I immediately fell into sink and lost 400m and had to instead potter around and then land at the bottom landing. Still today was really good though, and adding the FAI Bronze award to my pilot scorecard was a great bonus.
Tomorrow's the last flying day before I return to the UK, and cross country has to be on the cards, weather permitting.
