QCon London
Posted: 01 March 2009 @ 18:24 UT from London, UK

QCon London is fast approaching and I'm really pleased to be involved with this event for the 3rd year running. This year I'm not going to really be speaking on or hosting any tracks, but I've more sessions than I've done before.

On Monday morning (9th March) I'll be delivering the first* version of my Web-based Services tutorial. It's a 3 hour tutorial where I'll be covering (rather rapidly) the topics from our forthcoming book. If you're into things like POX and URI tunneling, CRUD services and WADL(!), hypermedia and REST, semantics, security and Atom and AtomPub, then come along.

My next involvement isn't until Friday 13th March (eek!) when my good friend Ian Robinson and I will be interviewed on Web-based integration by Stefan Tilkov on the interview track (which is a really interesting idea I think).

Straight from that I'll be hosting the final keynote panel which, in contrast to all other boring panels, will be based on the classic British game show Bullseye with all the cheesy silliness and moo-ing noises that implies. Martin Fowler, Steve Vinoski, Michael Nygard, and Ian Robinson will be made to look foolish in the name of spreading darts and computing knowledge to the crowd. See you there! And remember, you can't beat a bit of bully!

* Actually it's not really the first time, but the full tutorial takes a week to deliver and has a significant academic bent.
